This Saturday, June 28th, acclaimed progressive house artist Emi Galvan returns to Amsterdam for a long-awaited performance at Shipwrecked, hosted by Goesting Events at Lagerwal Noord. It’s been some years since his last set in the city, and fans of the genre are more than ready to welcome him back.

Joining a strong lineup including Noiyse Project, Emi brings his signature blend of groove, melody, and emotional storytelling to one of Amsterdam’s most unique open-air venues. Ahead of the show, we asked him five quick questions to reconnect with the local scene, get a glimpse into his current sound, and hear what we can expect from his set this weekend.

Let’s dive in.

Event Details

It’s been a while since your last time playing in Amsterdam. How does it feel to return and what do you remember most about your previous show here?

Hi! It’s great to come back after so many years! My debut in Amsterdam was at ADE in 2018. I remember I played at Club NL and it was a great experience! The vibes of the festival around the city was amazing. I really love Amsterdam and would like to visit more often!

Is there a track in your current sets that seems to hit the crowd especially hard lately? What do you think makes it stand out?

Well I think I have some but, ‘Supernova’ would be the one that the crowd might know because it was released two weeks ago and it has a special vibe. It has a different energy with a kind of happy melody that makes everybody enjoy the moment.

How would you describe your sound and the vibe of your sets to someone who hasn’t heard you live before?

Well I think that the three main colors that my music has are: Groove, melody and emotion. With these condiments the journey could take some different paths, sometimes darker or brighter. I like to have special moments

What do you personally look for in music when you’re digging or producing? What pulls you in?

It must have something different. It has to generate something for me while it makes you dance with a cool groove and sounds good.

Any words for the Amsterdam crowd ahead of your set this Saturday at Lagerwal Noord? What kind of journey can they expect from you at Shipwrecked?

That I can't wait to share my music with all of you and enjoy it together!
It's been a long time since last time, so I can't wait any longer!
