Ahead of these showcases, Raw Main shares his thoughts on connection, creativity, and the timeless energy that unites artists and audiences at ADE.

You've become a familiar face at ADE, playing for Sounds of Khemit in 2023 and returning for both Lost Miracle and Floral Nights in 2024. Now you're back for both showcases again in 2025. How has your relationship with the Amsterdam crowd deepened over these years, and what defines this unique connection for you now?

Every year at ADE feels like coming back to see friends. The Amsterdam crowd has a very special energy — open-minded, curious, and deeply connected to the music. Since my first shows here, I’ve felt a real resonance with what I do, this search for emotion, inner journey, and collective connection through sound.
Over time, that connection has become more intimate. I recognize faces, also become a moment where I take the time to talk, to connect beyond the music, to share stories and energy on a more human level. It allows me to express myself more freely, to take risks, to go deeper into the storytelling of my sets.

With releases on labels like All Day I Dream, Lost Miracle, and Sounds of Khemit, your sound navigates a beautiful space between melodic depth and rhythmic drive. For those who haven't seen you play, how would you describe the emotional and sonic journey you aim to create in your sets?

I’ve always been drawn to melody in my music. For me, it’s through melody that you can truly express emotion during a set. It’s what creates connection. At the same time, I always keep a strong house groove running underneath it all.
I often compare my sets to a rollercoaster. They go up, down, twist left and right. It’s like telling a story, using every element to take people on a journey.

You're returning to the Floral Nights showcase for a second consecutive year. What makes this event and its audience so special that it has become a repeat engagement in your ADE schedule?

The connections we build with certain promoters, DJs, listeners, fans, and label owners often go far beyond the professional level. I’ve never really been able to explain it, but sometimes we become much more than just friends. It’s something deeper. Those strong connections are one of the main reasons why we do this job. Sharing and exchanging energy is truly at the heart of it.

Your second appearance is part of the “Sounds of Khemit introduces: Superfine Records” night. How does the “indie dance” direction of this new project influence your approach and track selection for this specific set?

I think musical open-mindedness is really important. As the years go by, music evolves and so do we. Being open to different styles always leads to beautiful musical experiences. I feel like people often try to put us into one specific box or genre, and that’s a big mistake. Music should stay free and constantly evolving.
For example, my latest EP on Sounds of Khemit Water’s Edge is quite different from what I usually do. In fact, when I sent it to Nhii, he didn’t hesitate to tell me, “This is definitely for the label!” hahahaha.

ADE is a wellspring of new sounds and inspirations. What specific element of the week's energy are you most looking to capture and bring back to Paris with you to inform your next productions?

Stroopwafel I’m a big fan of this. Ahahaha.
I think the journey and the time spent in Amsterdam, along with all the meetings and encounters, are a huge source of inspiration. I also make a point to listen to friends play, as well as DJs I don’t know. It’s something I learned quite late, but the new generations often have a lot to teach us, that’s always inspiring.
I’ve noticed that after a tour or a long trip, my creativity is at its peak.

As the nights unfold at Bar Feijoa and Zum Barbarossa, Raw Main invites dancers into his world of melody, rhythm, and emotion — where connection is felt as much as it is heard. His open-hearted approach to music continues to inspire both peers and followers, proving that the true essence of ADE lives in the shared moments, stories, and sounds that bring us together in Amsterdam each year.
